Emily Blum, MD
Dr. Emily Blum is the Founder of BlumIM medtech consulting and previously served as Medical Affairs Liaison and Medical Director at the Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI), an affiliate of Georgia Institute of Technology, from 2017-2024. During her seven-year tenure at GCMI, she worked to accelerate the development and commercialization of innovative medical products, bringing in new projects from physician entrepreneurs and guiding clinical needs discussions around product innovation.
In 2024, Dr. Blum received the Georgia Bio Community Award for her contributions to the medtech ecosystem in Georgia. Dr. Blum serves on numerous advisory boards and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine in the Department of Urology and practices pediatric urology with Georgia Urology, PA at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
She is board-certified in adult and pediatric urology and has lectured across the world on fostering an innovative mindset in medicine. She currently serves as Secretary of the International Society for Pediatric Innovation. In her ongoing commitment to championing medical device commercialization, she has served as a reviewer, judge, and mentor for numerous medical innovations pitch rounds. She brings extensive experience in bridging clinical needs with product innovation, guiding development teams in understanding and addressing real-world healthcare challenges.
