Case Study
technology triage for a Federal Medical Center
Overview:
Providing comprehensive primary, mental health and specialty care along with social services to over 100,000 patients in the Midwest, this federal medical center also seeks to improve the future of medicine through education and medical research.
Without a comprehensive TTO and with limited commercialization resources, the client needed assistance with early-stage technology evaluation and resource allocation.
Wave Approach:
Wave introduced a Technology Assessment Process to source, prioritize and evaluate the highest value opportunities. Beyond assessing commercialization potential, Wave worked with inventors to build their teams, assess the reimbursement landscape, and create a commercialization execution plan.
Outcomes:
By assessing the existing pipeline, Wave helped the client focus on highest opportunity technologies and deploy resources effectively. By structuring a commercial plan and recommendation for the TTO, the case managers have a ’blue-print’ to move a product through the product development phase. Based on Wave technology evaluations, the TTO was able to shift its focus to high value technologies.
