Trent Szmania

Project Manager

Trent received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biological studies with a focus in Botany from Miami University in 2022. Trent joined the Wave Strategy team as a summer intern to begin his career in the healthcare and medical device industry.

Following his summer internship, Trent joined the team full-time as a Project Analyst and served in that role for three years. During this time, he conducted in-depth market research and analysis to generate actionable insights aligned with client objectives. His work included developing competitive landscape assessments, market sizing models, regulatory and reimbursement strategies, and value creation roadmaps that integrated budget and timeline considerations to support informed fundraising decisions.

In June 2025, Trent was promoted to Project Manager. In his current role, he continues to lead strategic market analyses while managing client engagements across the medical device and therapeutic sectors. He has gained hands-on product development experience through the creation and management of a scalable Quality Management System (QMS), support of preclinical animal studies, and oversight of project timelines and budgets for two medical device companies, one being an orthopedic device and the other a cardiovascular device.
